WeCitizens Social Is Launching

WeCitizens Social is the social network for citizens who refuse to be silenced. We are launching to give a voice back to the people — and to defend that voice against governments, intelligence services, big-money interests, narrative-pushing media, and the bot farms that drown out organic speech on every other major platform.

This is not another Twitter clone. It is a federated, open-protocol, open-source platform engineered from the first line of code so lawful speech stays up — visible, ranked transparently, and reachable across every compatible network on the open internet.

Why We Exist

WeCitizens Social was founded on a concrete observation: even platforms branded as "free speech" are now throttling organic reach below the threshold where citizens can be heard. A high-following account with a 24-hour-old post drawing only 16 views and 2 reposts is not a fluke — it is the new default. Posts hidden. Audiences shrunk. Followers walled off from their own feeds.

WeCitizens Social exists to make that throttling impossible.

What Makes Us Different — From Three Points of View

From the Audience's Point of View

Audiences come here because the posts they were supposed to see on other platforms are visible again. The feed is built on a published, inspectable ranking algorithm — not an editorial hand on the scale. Every post carries a "why am I seeing this?" explanation: six numbers, one formula, no black box.

Discovery is split deliberately: half the feed is people you chose to follow, a third is high-quality voices from outside your graph, and a meaningful slice is reserved for small and new creators who would otherwise never surface. A reader who comes here actually finds the voices the legacy platforms hid.

From the Customer's (Creator's) Point of View

Creators come to WeCitizens Social because they have been pushed off, hidden on, or quietly demoted by the dominant platforms. They stay because the platform is engineered to grow audiences that other networks suppress:

  • Their posts are not hidden. Lawful speech stays up. No shadow bans. No silent demotions. If a post is removed, the user sees the reason.
  • Their audience grows. Feed ranking, trust-based discovery, cross-network publishing, and Hero amplification are all built to move suppressed voices in front of real human audiences.
  • Their followers belong to them. Identity on WeCitizens Social is a Nostr keypair the user controls. We can suspend an account on our infrastructure, but we cannot revoke the speaker's ability to keep posting from the same identity anywhere else.
  • Their work is preserved. Twitter/X archives can be backed up and imported. A creator banned tomorrow on a legacy platform still has every post, every follower handle, and every page they cared about, in their own hands, ready to republish.
  • One post reaches many networks. Compose once, fan out to Nostr, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads, and more — with per-network publish receipts so the creator can see exactly where it landed.

From the Social Network's Point of View

A social network that genuinely defends speech has to be engineered so it cannot be pressured into censorship. WeCitizens Social's architecture has no single throat to choke:

  • Federated by design. We are built on open standards — Nostr, ActivityPub, Mastodon, and AT Protocol (Bluesky). The network is not us; the network is the protocol. If WeCitizens Social ever fails the customer, their keys, posts, and followers move to any compatible network intact.
  • Open-source code. The server, the frontend, and the deploy stack are public on GitHub. Anyone can audit, fork, run their own instance, and verify that what we say we do is what we actually do.
  • Open algorithms. The ranking pipeline, trust math, and feed config are published and version-controlled. Trust is computed across the follow graph — a freshly stood-up bot farm of 10,000 accounts with no history cannot move the feed.
  • No advertiser veto. Revenue comes from subscribers, on-prem deployments, and platform services — not from advertisers who can quietly demand suppression as the price of an insertion order.
  • Sovereign deployment. Server Node lets a user run a piece of the network on their own PC. On-prem AI lets an organization run the entire moderation stack on hardware it owns. There is no master server to seize.

Our Seven Promises

These are the promises we make to every customer, in priority order. Everything else supports this list.

  1. Free speech. Lawful speech stays up. We do not silence customers because their views are unpopular with regulators, advertisers, or activist staff at incumbent platforms.
  2. We grow their audience. Feed ranking, cross-network publishing, trust-based discovery, and Hero amplification are all built to surface suppressed voices.
  3. Protection from manufactured narratives. Inorganic amplification is detected. Coordinated suppression is exposed. Authentic human signal outweighs manufactured consensus — wired into the algorithm, not just into the marketing.
  4. Transparent ranking. Every customer can see why a post ranks where it ranks. No black-box editorial hand on the scale.
  5. Open-source code. Audit it. Fork it. Run your own instance. Trust is earned through inspection, not asserted through marketing.
  6. Open-standard backbones. Identity, content, and social graph are not locked to a single vendor — including us.
  7. Open content. Content is open to be read, indexed, archived, mirrored, cross-posted, and federated. We make it easier — not harder — for a citizen's words to reach the largest possible authentic audience.

Moderation Without Censorship

Free speech is not lawlessness. WeCitizens Social runs a serious moderation stack built around one principle: preserve lawful speech; route only genuinely illegal material — CSAM, credible threats, court-ordered disclosures — through proper legal channels.

Confirmed CSAM (via hash match or human confirmation) is removed atomically, preserved as evidence under chain of custody, and reported to NCMEC. Lawful but unpopular speech never enters that pipeline. Reports require phone-verified reporters and a structured response slot for the accused before any human decision. AI never auto-enforces. The whole architecture exists to prevent moderation from being weaponized as a censorship pretext.

Built So We Cannot Be Pressured

The infrastructure underwrites every promise above. Multi-region relay clusters mean there is no single jurisdiction that can take us down. Identity is a cryptographic keypair — math, not a row in our database. Media is content-addressed and portable. The WebSocket protocol is open Nostr, so any compliant client can read and post a customer's content. We earn the customer's trust every day by being replaceable, not by locking them in.

Welcome

If you have been suspended, shadow-banned, demoted, or simply tired of speaking into a void engineered to swallow you — you are who we built this for.

The platform is live. The code is open. The protocols are open. The audience is real.

WeCitizens Social is also the town square of We The Citizens — the sister platform where citizens turn what they have said into laws, evidence, and decisions. Speak here. Build there. Same movement.

Welcome to WeCitizens Social.
